"Initiative": The “Hungry for Phones” initiative operated by the Promoter, under which members of the public are invited to post eligible unwanted or unused mobile phones to the Promoter for recycling, in return for the chance to be entered into the Prize Draw.
"Round": A defined period of the Initiative during which phones received by the Promoter count towards that Round's Prize Fund and Prize Draw. Each Round runs until the Promoter has received its target weight of eligible phones for that Round (currently approximately 500kg) or until the Promoter otherwise decides to close the Round, after which a new Round will begin.
"Eligible Entrant": An individual who is a UK resident aged 18 or over.

"Winner(s)": The three Valid Entrants selected in the Prize Draw for a given Round.
Conditions:
1. General
1.1. These terms and conditions apply to the Hungry for Phones initiative operated by the Promoter, including each Round of the Initiative and its associated Prize Draw.
1.2. In these terms and conditions, ‘we’, ‘us’, ‘our’ and ‘Promoter’ all mean Atom Juice Limited T/A Compare and Recycle. ‘You’ means an individual taking part in the Initiative.
1.3. By sending a phone to the Promoter and/or submitting your email address in connection with the Initiative, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
1.4. The Promoter reserves the right to amend these terms, and to extend, suspend or cancel the Initiative or any Round, at any time, including where this is necessary due to the volume of phones received or for reasons outside the Promoter's control. Where reasonably possible, the Promoter will act fairly and communicate any initiative changes to entrants.
1.5. The Promoter's decision on all matters concerning the Initiative, including calculation of the Prize Fund and conduct of the Prize Draw, is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
1.6. The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any entrant who does not comply with these terms.
1.7. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
1.8. If you have any questions about the Initiative, contact contact@compareandrecycle.co.uk, or reply directly to the email confirming your entry.
2. How to Take Part
2.1. To take part in a Round, you must: (a) post at least one eligible mobile phone to the Promoter for recycling, at your own cost, to the address provided by the Promoter: Sterling house, 7 Ashford road, ME14 5BJ; and (b) submit your email address via Hungry for Phones Initiative webpage to register for that Round's Prize Draw.
2.2. Taking part is free other than the cost of posting your phone(s) to the Promoter. The Promoter does not provide, arrange or reimburse postage, and does not use tracked or signed-for delivery for this Initiative.
2.3. Only one Valid Entry is permitted per person, per Round, regardless of how many phones you send in.
2.4. By submitting your email address, you confirm that you have sent, or genuinely intend to send, at least one eligible phone to the Promoter in connection with that submission. The Promoter is relying on entrants to take part in good faith and reserves the right to withhold, disqualify or reclaim a prize from, any entry it reasonably believes to be fraudulent or not made in good faith.
2.5. The Promoter is not responsible for phones that are lost, delayed or damaged in the post, or that otherwise fail to reach the Promoter.
3. Eligibility
3.1. The Initiative is open to Eligible Entrants only, namely individuals who are UK residents aged 18 or over.
3.2. Excluded Entrants are not permitted to take part in, or win, the Initiative.
3.3. The Promoter reserves the right to request reasonable proof of identity, age and UK residency from any entrant, including a Winner, before confirming or releasing a prize.
4. Rounds and the Prize Fund
4.1. The Initiative runs in successive Rounds. Round 1 is expected to run for approximately three months from 01.09.2026, or until the Promoter has received its target weight of eligible phones for that Round (currently approximately 500kg). Once Round 1 closes, Round 2 will begin on a similar basis, and further Rounds may follow.
4.2. The size of the Prize Fund for a Round depends on the volume and type of phones received during that Round and the rate paid by the Promoter's recycling partner per kilogramme of phones received, and will vary between Rounds. The Promoter will calculate the Prize Fund reasonably and in good faith deducting postage and packaging costs.
4.3. After all expenses deducted, the Prize Fund for a Round will be divided equally between the three Winners of that Round.
5. The Prize Draw
5.1. As soon as reasonably possible after a Round closes, and once the Promoter has received payment from its recycling partner in respect of that Round (which may take up to 30 days), the Promoter will hold the Prize Draw for that Round. For Round 1, the Promoter currently expects the Prize Draw to take place in early 2027, though this depends on processing and payment timescales and is subject to change.
5.2. Three Winners will be selected at random by the Promoter from all Valid Entries received for that Round.
5.3. Winners will be notified by email, sent to the email address provided as part of their Valid Entry, in the lead-up to and/or at the time of the Prize Draw. The Promoter does not collect or use any other contact details for this purpose.
5.4. If you do not receive an email confirming that you have won, you have not won a prize in that Round. The Promoter will not enter into further correspondence about individual results.
5.5. A Winner must respond to the notification email within 72 hours to confirm their chosen retailer for their gift card. If a Winner does not respond within 72 hours, their entitlement to the prize will lapse, and the Promoter reserves the right to select an alternative Winner at random from the remaining Valid Entries for that Round or, if this is not practicable, to carry the relevant share forward into the next Round's Prize Fund.
6. The Prize
6.1. Each Winner will receive a digital gift card, for a retailer of their choice, to the value of their equal share of the Prize Fund for that Round.
6.2. The gift card will be sent electronically to the email address the Winner provided as part of their Valid Entry.
6.3. Prizes are not transferable, cannot be exchanged, and no cash alternative is available.
6.4. The Promoter is not responsible for a gift card not being received due to an incorrect email address being provided, or due to the notification or gift card being filtered as spam or otherwise failing to reach the Winner's inbox.
7. Data Protection and Privacy
7.1. The Promoter will collect and use the email address you submit to administer the Initiative, the relevant Round, the Prize Draw and, if you win, delivery of your prize.
7.2. The Promoter will not use your email address for marketing purposes unless you have separately opted in to receive marketing communications.
7.3. The Promoter will retain entrants' email addresses only for as long as reasonably necessary to administer the relevant Round and Prize Draw and to deal with related queries.
7.4. You have rights under UK data protection law, including rights to access, correct or request deletion of your personal data. To exercise these rights, or for any other data protection query, contact contact@compareandrecycle.co.uk.
7.5. Further information on how the Promoter handles personal data is available in this Privacy Policy.
