If your device has been revalued, the recycler will send you a re-offer email explaining the reason for a downgrade. From here, you can either accept or decline the new offer.
Here are some reasons for a phone downgrade:
- Details of the device sold do not match the device that has been received
- Device has been received outside of the lock-in device period (this is typically 7-14 days depending on the recycler)
- Unhealthy battery or missing parts/ screws
- Evidence of the device having had an attempted repair by an unauthorised service centre and/or has non-genuine parts fitted to it
- Device is crushed, not in one piece or dismantled. All main components should be attached to the board
- Water damage
- No IMEI or IMEI label
- Not a UK specification device and locked to a foreign network
- Does not turn on and off
- Device has scuffs, cracks, dents, chips, scratches to outer casings/cosmetics/device body and battery/back cover
- Scratches or marks on the screen
- Display has blemishes or missing pixels when turned on
- Password / security locked devices to personal accounts (e.g. iCloud or Google)
